Summer Lectures in Geometry

The XVIIth Summer Lectures in Geometry
June 16-18, 2025

The Summer Lectures in Geometry are a tradition at CAMGSD that attains in 2025 its 17th edition. Renowned mathematicians working in Geometry and related areas have lectured thematic courses in two or three sessions during a concentration week in the Summer period. The themes match areas of interest or current work for the large CAMGSD group working in Geometry and related areas. Sessions are open to all interested parties.

This series features a course made up of three lectures by

  • Agustin Moreno, Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg
The symplectic geometry of the three-body problem

In this series of lectures, I will discuss how methods from modern symplectic geometry (e.g. holomorphic curves or Floer theory) can be made to bear on the classical (circular, restricted) three body problem. I will touch upon theoretical aspects, as well as practical applications to space mission design. This is based on my recent book, available in https://arxiv.org/abs/2101.04438, to be published by Springer Nature.
